Apprenticeships: 8 top resources for information and insights

As National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW2024) comes to an end we’ve all hopefully learnt a little bit more about the value of apprenticeships and the opportunities they can open up. 

And although we welcome the chance to really focus on apprenticeships, NAW2024 is just one week in the year, and we need to find information on apprenticeships all year round. So here’s a quick round up of some useful online resources that focus on apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships (GOV.UK)
The official portal for apprenticeships. What is an apprenticeship and is an apprenticeship right for you? The resources hub includes subject snapshots and case studies. You can also browse current vacancies by sector.

Find an Apprenticeship
Search for a current apprenticeship vacancy by keyword, location and level.

Amazing Apprenticeships
More than just info on apprenticeships – find free resources, employer info, a teacher zone and packs for parents and carers. They also have a YouTube channel 

Higher and Degree Apprenticeship Listing 
Browse the latest higher and degree apprenticeship vacancies – found on Amazing Apprenticeships above, but worth a special mention. 

BBC Bitesize
Real-life apprentice stories – listen to apprentices talk about their careers and how they got there through an apprenticeship (50 videos). 

Occupational Maps (IfATE)
Useful for showing the pathways between different careers and how they link together within the apprenticeships framework. Includes job profiles and average salaries.  

Green Themes / Apprenticeships (IfATE)
The Green Taskforce has identified apprenticeships that will be particularly important to helping the country reach its sustainability goals. Explore the ‘mid-green’ and ‘dark-green’ occupations. These link in with the Coronation Emblem Apprenticeships selected in 2023 to celebrate His Majesty King Charles III’s ascent to the throne.
